Before you go
- Entrance fees: $30 per private vehicle, $25 per motorcycle or $15 per person on foot or by bike; under-16s are free. A $55 annual pass for US residents also covers Canyonlands, Natural Bridges and Hovenweep. The $100 non-resident fee charged at Zion and Bryce Canyon doesn’t apply here.
- Entry: timed-entry reservations were dropped for 2026. On very busy days rangers may close the entrance for a few hours when the queue reaches the highway or car parks fill. Waits can top an hour between March and October.
- Fiery Furnace: self-guided permits cost $10 per person on Recreation.gov, booked 2 to 7 days ahead, and you collect them at the visitor centre. Ranger-led hikes cost $16 per person and release 7 days ahead.
- Heat: summer days often top 100°F and there’s little shade on most trails. Carry plenty of water and hike early.
- Camping: Devils Garden Campground takes reservations from March to October and is usually full every night in summer.
